Italian Sausage with Bow Tie Pasta 🍝🇮🇹😍
Ingredients:
- 12 ounces bow tie pasta
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Directions:
- Cook the bow tie pasta according to the package directions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until it’s browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and bell peppers. Sauté until they soften, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until it becomes fragrant.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juices), chicken broth, dried basil, and dried oregano. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the sausage mixture over the cooked bow tie pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
